Agriculture, supply chains, and natural climate solutions are all inherently complex. Heartwood cuts through that complexity with upfront systems thinking that bridges the gaps between ecological goals, social realities, and financial accountability - to deliver impact for both ecosystems and communities.
Grounded in complexity, not just theory
Meaningful sustainability requires navigating the tensions -- between social-environmental integrity and commercial constraints, between global standards and local realities, between what's ideal and what's achievable now. I've spent 20 years working across 26 countries with suppliers, communities, NGOs, unions, UN and government agencies, and corporate teams. That experience shapes how I approach every engagement: Listening first, valuing all voices, building systems that can actually scale, and measuring what matters.
What I offer:
Multi-stakeholder facilitation - genuine collaboration and discord navigation to find workable paths forward
Technical rigor in performance measurement - monitoring and due diligence frameworks that drive credible claims, not just compliance.
Fluency across sectors - I understand the language of both sustainability and business teams, translating between realities
Standards from the inside - Having helped design and advise several leading standards and platforms, I understand how standards work, their strengths, and where they fall short.
